2020 Masters Road Nationals heads to the Gold Coast

The 2020 Masters RoadNats will see Australia's best masters cyclists battle for the coveted national champion’s jerseys in the time trial, road race and criterium on the Gold Coast from 9-12 December 2020.  

The Championships begin on Wednesday 9 December with a 20-kilometre time trial in the Tallebudgera Valley.

The criterium will be contested on the purpose built course at Runaway Bay (Luke Harrop Circuit) on Thursday.    

The Road Races will be hosted in 
Guanaba on Friday and Saturday with the high-octane eight-kilometre road race circuit featuring short laps and stabby hill climbs.   

“We extend our genuine appreciation to the Gold Coast for hosting the Championships,” said Cycling Australia CEO Steve Drake. “We look forward to an exciting three days of racing in the time trial, road race and criterium events.”

  • Wednesday 9 December– Time Trial 
  • Thursday 10 December - Criterium

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Will the event go forward if some states/territories cannot participate? Yes we will seek to continue to conduct the Championships even if some states are unable to participate due to government restrictions.
  • What are your COVID-19 plans? Cycling Australia and NX Sports are working closely with the Queensland government to exceed all of the COVID-19 Safe Event requirements.  These will be specifically outlined.
  • If I can’t attend due to COVID-19 border restriction changes? In this case your entry will be fully refundable.
  • What if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions? In this case we will refund all entries.
  • Will the event be conducted as a Cycling Australia or AusCycling Championships? It will be conducted as an AusCycling Championships. 
  • ​Will I require an AusCycling Membership? You will be able to race on either an AusCycling Membership or a Cycling Australia membership that is valid until 12 December 2020.

Will TT require race licence, or will entries be permitted from riders on ride licence too?

Can an non-Australian citizen part take? I have Permanent residency/Partner Visa for Australia plus a valid Australian Cycling membership.
